What happens when you scan a friend's QR

Scanning a friend's QR is the fastest way to trade World Cup 2026 stickers in Onzi. Any collection can become a QR code that packs, in a compact form, which stickers you have as duplicates and which ones you still need. When you scan your friend's QR, the app combines that data with your own collection and compares the two right on your phone.

The result is a clear picture: what you have spare that they need, and what they have spare that you need. No typing, no spreadsheet, no sending album photos in a group chat. Just point the camera and scan.

And all of it runs offline. The data goes straight from the QR into your phone, with no internet and no account — ideal for trading in the schoolyard, at the newsstand, or at a friend's place.

How to scan the trade QR, step by step

Trading is face to face: one person shows the QR on screen, the other scans it. Both of you need Onzi open.

  • Ask your friend to open the trade screen and leave their QR code showing on their phone.
  • On your Onzi, open the trade QR scanner and point the camera at their screen.
  • Keep the code centered and well lit until the app recognizes it.
  • Done: Onzi cross-references both collections and opens a trade session with the results.

How to read the trade results

After the scan, Onzi shows the golden pairs between you: stickers you have as duplicates that they need, matched with stickers they have spare that you need. These are the most valuable trades, because they move both albums forward at once.

You also get the big picture — how many stickers you can give and receive, and how many are left over on each side after the ideal trade. That makes it easy to decide what to close on the spot.

Aim to keep the trade balanced: one sticker for another, the same count on both sides. Onzi already groups everything by team, so it's simple to check national team by national team before you peel and stick.

QR won't scan? Try this

It's almost always something simple with the camera or the screen. Before giving up, run through the basics:

  • Turn up the screen brightness on whoever is showing the QR.
  • Wipe the camera lens and back off a little so the whole code fits in the frame.
  • Avoid glare and strong light hitting the screen directly.
  • Make sure both of you granted camera permission to Onzi.
  • If it still won't read, swap roles: whoever was scanning shows their QR instead, and vice versa.
